The Last Pilot

In a distant future where human pilots have been completely replaced by autonomous androids and strict corporate algorithms, Ari remains an anomaly—a hybrid pilot who is "too much machine for people and too much human for machines." Stationed on the arid, water-starved canyon world of Kessa, Ari performs the reserve and dirty work hauling ice from the skies. As the corporate colony prepares for a massive evacuation on the massive ark ship Pandora, 40,000 residents are loaded onto the vessel under the guise of relocation—though secret registries reveal they are actually being bound to lifelong debt. Along with a small, mysterious robotic companion named Kilo salvaged from a classified past expedition to Jupiter’s moon, Europa, Ari uncovers hidden corporate truths, forgotten wars, and an ancient presence waiting beneath the ice.
