Writing an interactive story
Scenes, choices and endings. · 4 min read
The idea
A story is a set of scenes. Each scene has some text and up to six choices; each choice leads to another scene. A scene with an ending title finishes the story. Readers can go back and try other paths.
In the editor
Studio → Interactive stories → New story. Add scenes, write what happens, add choices and pick where each leads. The editor warns you about scenes nobody can reach, scenes where the reader would be stuck, and missing endings.
Declare how AI was used, then submit. An administrator reviews it before it is published. Stories are text only, so they cost nothing to host.
Tips
Sketch the branches on paper first. Aim for a few short routes that rejoin, rather than one huge tree. Give every ending a memorable title: readers collect them.
